Crude oil prices drop again.
Crude oil prices fell in international markets today, Monday. Brent crude prices have dropped below $72 per barrel due to improved tanker movement through the Strait of Hormuz and OPEC+'s decision to increase production starting in August.
Amidst the decline in crude oil prices, OPEC+ nations have decided to release an additional 188,000 barrels per day into the market starting in July-August. This could lead to further price drops in the near future. The price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) has settled in the $68 per barrel range, indicating an improvement in oil and gas shipments via the US-secured corridor in the Strait of Hormuz.
Will LPG prices decrease now?
Despite the drop in international crude oil prices, petrol, diesel, and LPG prices in India will not decrease immediately. If crude oil prices remain at this level for an extended period, some reduction in prices could be expected by the end of July or in August. The fact is, the LPG, petrol, and diesel currently being sold in India were purchased earlier at higher prices. It will take time for the new stock to reach India and undergo refining.
