Restaurants are facing the most problems due to the LPG shortage. They are being forced to close or increase the prices of their goods. However, Union Minister Hardeep Singh stated that despite the challenges, industries (such as restaurants) are receiving approximately 70-80 percent of their gas needs. He also stated that the government is committed to providing affordable energy to households across the country.

Hardeep Singh also stated that India is meeting its energy needs by diversifying import sources outside of West Asia. According to government officials, these supplies of LPG and LNG from alternative locations are expected to arrive in the country soon.
