LPG Price Hike: A big shock on the very first day of the month—LPG cylinder price increased by ₹62.50; check the new rates..
Just before the start of the festive season, the common man and business owners have been dealt a major blow by rising prices. On the very first day of the month—October 1st—oil marketing companies hiked LPG cylinder prices. The price of the 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has increased by ₹62.50; in Delhi, the cost has now risen to ₹2,810. This hike could directly impact the operating costs of hotels, restaurants, *dhabas*, catering services, and small businesses. The increased LPG expenditure for businesses may eventually be reflected in the prices of food and beverages.
On a positive note, there has been no change in the price of the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder. It remains priced at ₹942 in Delhi, ₹941.50 in Mumbai, and ₹957.50 in Chennai. The rate for the 14.2 kg cylinder is ₹1,031.50 in Patna and ₹979.50 in Lucknow. Domestic cylinders are priced at ₹941.50 in Mumbai, ₹968 in Kolkata, and ₹957.50 in Chennai. In Hyderabad, the domestic cylinder costs ₹994, while in Ranchi, it is ₹1,010.50.
**Biometric Authentication Mandatory**
Starting today, October 1st, Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is mandatory for LPG customers receiving subsidies. Customers who have not completed the e-KYC or required biometric processes may face difficulties in receiving the government subsidy. However, this does not mean their gas connection will be disconnected or cylinder deliveries will stop.
Customers should update their KYC and Aadhaar details linked to their LPG connection in a timely manner. It is advisable to confirm any changes or verify eligibility details with the respective gas company or distributor. The story is being updated…
