LPG Price Cut from November 1: Commercial Cylinder Becomes ₹5 Cheaper, No Change in Domestic LPG Rates
Starting November 1, 2025, the prices of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinders have been revised once again. According to the latest price notification by Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), the cost of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders has been reduced by ₹5 across major Indian cities. This update comes just weeks ahead of the Bihar elections, bringing some relief to hotels, restaurants, and small businesses that depend heavily on LPG for daily operations.
However, the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder—used in households—has not seen any change in its price. Consumers will continue paying the same rate as before.
New LPG Cylinder Prices from November 1
As per Indian Oil’s revised price list, the new cost of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi is ₹1,590.50, down from ₹1,595.50. The reduction, though modest, comes after a ₹15 price hike in October, providing minor relief to business owners amid rising operational costs.
Here’s the updated commercial LPG price list across major cities:
-
Delhi: ₹1,590.50
-
Mumbai: ₹1,542.00
-
Kolkata: ₹1,694.00
-
Chennai: ₹1,750.00
-
Patna: ₹1,876.00
-
Noida: ₹1,876.00
-
Lucknow: ₹1,876.00
-
Bhopal: ₹1,853.50
-
Gurugram: ₹1,607.00
This reduction is applicable to all oil marketing companies (OMCs) including Indian Oil, Bharat Petroleum (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum (HPCL).
Where Commercial LPG Is Used
Commercial LPG cylinders are primarily used in hotels, restaurants, dhabas, bakeries, catering services, and industrial kitchens. For these establishments, even small price adjustments can significantly impact monthly expenditure, especially when bulk usage is involved.
Industry experts suggest that the current ₹5 cut may not drastically change costs for businesses, but it indicates a stabilizing trend in LPG prices after recent fluctuations.
Domestic LPG Prices Remain Unchanged
The 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder—used by households for cooking—remains unchanged this month. The last revision to domestic LPG rates was made on April 8, 2025.
Current domestic LPG prices across major cities are as follows:
-
Delhi: ₹853.00
-
Kolkata: ₹879.00
-
Mumbai: ₹852.50
-
Chennai: ₹868.50
-
Lucknow: ₹890.50
-
Ahmedabad: ₹860.00
-
Hyderabad: ₹905.00
-
Varanasi: ₹916.50
-
Patna: ₹951.00
The central government continues to offer targeted subsidies to eligible consumers through direct benefit transfers under the Ujjwala Yojana to support lower-income households.
Recent LPG Price Trends
LPG prices in India are reviewed on a monthly basis, influenced by global crude oil trends, foreign exchange rates, and international LPG market dynamics.
In October 2025, the commercial LPG cylinder price saw a ₹15 increase, marking the first hike after several months of reductions. The current ₹5 cut for November indicates moderate price stability and could be a result of falling global gas prices.
However, the absence of any reduction in domestic LPG prices reflects the government’s cautious approach toward maintaining subsidy balance and revenue neutrality.
What It Means for Consumers
-
Domestic users: No immediate relief, but stable prices bring predictability to household budgets.
-
Businesses: A marginal decrease in costs for hotels, eateries, and catering services.
-
Economy: The price adjustment may help control inflationary pressures in the food and hospitality sectors.
Experts believe that any major downward revision in LPG prices will depend on global energy trends and the strength of the Indian rupee in the coming months.
In Summary:
From November 1, 2025, the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been cut by ₹5, while domestic cylinder prices remain unchanged. The move provides slight relief for business users but little change for households.
