Meanwhile, a massive sum of ₹7,000 crore is scheduled to be transferred on August 4 into the crop loan accounts of 16.94 lakh farmers found eligible for the scheme. Once this amount is credited, the farmers' outstanding loan dues will be cleared, paving the way for them to secure fresh crop loans from banks.

Why were 94,000 farmers declared ineligible?
The government had forwarded the data of all applicant farmers—those with loans up to ₹2 lakh—directly to the Income Tax Department for verification. The scrutiny revealed that approximately 94,000 applicants were regular income tax payers. Under the scheme's guidelines, farmers who pay income tax are not entitled to the loan waiver. Consequently, to ensure transparency, these 94,000 names have been removed from the beneficiary list.

Who benefits from the scheme, and how much?
The government has established clear criteria for loan waivers to provide financial relief to needy and marginal farmers in the state. Under these rules, farmers with outstanding crop loans as of September 30, 2025, are being granted a full waiver of up to ₹2 lakh. Additionally, farmers who have consistently repaid their crop loans on time without defaulting will receive an incentive of ₹50,000. For farmers with outstanding loans exceeding ₹2 lakh, the government will deposit its share of ₹2 lakh directly into the account to settle the debt, provided the farmer deposits the excess amount (the portion above ₹2 lakh) with the bank.

How to check your name on the beneficiary list? The government has uploaded the first list of eligible farmers to the Cooperation Department and MahaIT portals. If you wish to verify whether your name is on the eligibility list, you can do so by following the methods outlined below.

**Online Process**
First, visit the official portal of the State Government's Cooperation Department or MahaIT. Click on the link for the 'Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Shetkari Karjmukti Yojana 2026' beneficiary list available on the homepage. Select your district, taluka, and village based on your location. Enter your name and submit the details; the complete list for your village will appear on the screen.

**Offline Method**
You can visit the specific branch of the nationalized bank, rural bank, or district cooperative bank from which you obtained the loan and check the physical list of villages displayed on the notice board.
Alternatively, you can visit your nearest 'Aaple Sarkar Seva Kendra' or CSC center to check if your name is on the list.

The loan waiver amount will be transferred directly to your bank account via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). For this, completing Aadhaar e-KYC and AgriStack registration for your bank account is mandatory.
