Beneficiaries of the Chief Minister's Ladli Behna Yojana will receive ₹1,250 today and will soon receive ₹1,500. Meanwhile, the administration has prepared to remove women from the list who do not meet the eligibility criteria. Currently, 12.6 million women receive monthly funds under the Madhya Pradesh Ladli Behna Yojana.

For a long time, there has been a demand for an increase in the amount under this scheme, which will now be fulfilled soon. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that women will begin receiving ₹1,500 every month after Bhai Dooj. Furthermore, a monthly payment of ₹3,000 has also been announced until 2028. However, reports have also emerged that many women who are not eligible are receiving benefits under the Ladli Behna Yojana.

The administration has now decided to conduct a verification drive before increasing the amount under this scheme. Under this initiative, the records of 1.26 crore beneficiaries will be re-examined, and the names of ineligible women will be removed from the list. Data will also be matched with the Aadhar ID. Women who do not meet the eligibility criteria will be removed.

Learn about the eligibility criteria for the Ladli Behna Yojana.

The Ladli Behna Yojana was launched to provide financial assistance to needy women in the state. However, many women who do not meet the eligibility criteria are benefiting from this scheme. This scheme is only for married, widowed, and divorced women in Madhya Pradesh. They must be between 21 and 60 years of age.

If you don't meet these criteria, forget about the 1500 rupees.
If the woman or family's annual income exceeds 2.5 lakh rupees,
This means that if the family's income exceeds 20,833 rupees, you are ineligible.
If the beneficiary woman or any member of the family pays income tax,
If the woman or any member of the family is in government service or is retired,
This includes regular/permanent/contractual employees in central and state government departments/undertakings/boards/local bodies.

How to surrender yourself?
If, after government verification, it is found that benefits are being received despite being ineligible, the administration may also seek recovery. In such a case, it would be better to surrender yourself. The process of surrendering the Ladli Behna Yojana benefits is very simple.

₹1,500 crore monthly expenditure
The Madhya Pradesh government requires over ₹1,500 crore monthly to run the Ladli Behna Yojana. Reducing this to ₹1,500 crore would certainly increase the burden on the government, especially at a time when the Madhya Pradesh government is having to borrow money to run the scheme.
