Ladki Bahin Yojana: Minister Aditi Tatkare gives a major update on the Ladki Bahin Yojana e-KYC; know the new order..
A major update has emerged for women in Maharashtra. The state government has taken a significant step for women who faced problems with the eKYC process. Maharashtra's Minister of Women and Child Development, Aditi Tatkare, has instructed all district collectors to conduct physical verification. This verification will be carried out through Anganwadi workers. Aditi Tatkare herself shared this information through a social media post.
Thousands of women were not receiving the money from the Chief Minister's Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana (My Beloved Sister Scheme). Their monthly installment of Rs. 1500 had been pending for several months, even though they had completed the eKYC process. However, it was later revealed that this technical issue arose due to incorrect information provided during the eKYC process. As a result, women were repeatedly visiting offices and banks. Now, the Maharashtra government has taken a major step to resolve this technical difficulty.
eKYC was to be completed by December 31st
To prevent irregularities and remove fake names from the Ladki Bahin Yojana, the state government has made the eKYC process mandatory. The deadline for this was extended to December 31, 2025. The administration had also given time until December 31st to correct errors in the eKYC. However, it was observed that even after completing the eKYC, thousands of women did not receive the monthly Rs. 1500 in their accounts.
Reasons why the Rs. 1500 from the Ladki Bahin Yojana were withheld
According to officials, thousands of applications are pending due to technical reasons. Many women do not have their Aadhaar number linked to their bank account. There are also a large number of women who provided incorrect answers to the questions asked during the eKYC process. Transferring money without correcting these errors was difficult. Therefore, the Women and Child Development Department has decided to conduct physical verification of these applications.
What needs to be done to receive the Rs. 1500
Minister Aditi Tatkare herself has updated that the verification work will be completed by the district collectors through Anganwadi workers. In this situation, women whose money is stuck can contact their nearest Anganwadi worker to receive Rs. 1500 every month.
Link your bank account with Aadhaar.
Also, if your bank account is not linked to your Aadhaar card, get this done at the bank immediately. If your bank account was opened under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, then it was necessary to complete e-KYC again. If you haven't done this yet, your account may become inactive. So, go and complete the e-KYC process quickly.
