Lakhs of women in Maharashtra enrolled under the Ladki Bahin Yojana have received an important update from the state government. Authorities have made it clear that every beneficiary must complete her mandatory e-KYC verification by November 18, 2025. Those who fail to do so will stop receiving the monthly financial assistance of ₹1,500.

The deadline ends today, making this update extremely urgent for all eligible women across the state.

What Is Ladki Bahin Yojana?

Launched in June 2024, the Ladki Bahin Yojana aims to provide financial support to economically weaker women in Maharashtra. More than 1 crore women are currently receiving benefits under the scheme. The monthly amount of ₹1,500 is transferred directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through the DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) system.

However, going forward, the government will release payments only to those whose e-KYC records are verified and updated.

Why e-KYC Has Been Made Mandatory

The state government has stated several reasons for enforcing e-KYC before continuing the monthly payouts:

1. To ensure money reaches genuine beneficiaries

The verification process helps prevent benefits from going to fake applicants, duplicate entries or ineligible individuals.

2. To tighten Aadhaar-linked authentication

Under Section 7 of the Aadhaar Act 2016, Aadhaar verification is compulsory for availing any government-sponsored financial benefit. The September 2025 notification from the state government reinforced this rule.

3. To strengthen DBT transparency

When Aadhaar details are verified, the DBT system becomes more secure, reducing chances of misdirected payments.

4. To enable faster, automated verification

UIDAI has authorised the Women and Child Development Department as a Sub-AUA/Sub-KUA, allowing it to conduct e-KYC independently and more efficiently.

What Happens If You Miss the Deadline?

If beneficiaries do not complete their e-KYC by the end of November 18, 2025, they will:

  • Stop receiving the ₹1,500 monthly allowance

  • Become temporarily ineligible for further payments

  • Have to complete e-KYC later, causing delays in receiving funds

The government has made it clear that the system will automatically filter out non-verified accounts from the payout list.

How to Complete e-KYC From Home

The government has made the e-KYC process entirely digital and user-friendly. Women can complete it from home in just a few minutes using a mobile phone or computer.

Here is the step-by-step process:

Step 1:

Visit the official portal: ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in

Step 2:

Click on the e-KYC button available on the homepage.

Step 3:

Enter your Aadhaar number, fill the captcha code, and click Send OTP.

Step 4:

The system will first display whether your e-KYC is already completed.

  • If completed, you will see: e-KYC already completed

  • If not, proceed with the next steps.

Step 5:

If your Aadhaar number is not found in the eligible list, the system will show:
Aadhaar number is not in the eligible list.

Step 6:

Once you receive the OTP on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number, enter it and submit.

Step 7:

The system will then ask for the Aadhaar number of your husband or father.
Fill in the details → Enter captcha → Click Send OTP → Enter OTP → Submit.

Step 8:

Choose the following two details:

  • Your caste category

  • Two declarations:

    • No family member is in a government job or receiving a government pension

    • Only one married and one unmarried woman in the family are availing the scheme

After submitting these details, a confirmation message will appear:

“Success – Your e-KYC verification has been successfully completed.”
