Kedarnath Darshan: Kedarnath Darshan will now be easier, Gautam Adani shared the video of the ropeway project...

Gautam Adani recently shared a video on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) stating that the arduous climb to Kedarnath is now being made easier. The Adani Group is building a state-of-the-art ropeway to connect the sacred Kedarnath shrine in Uttarakhand with Sonprayag. This ropeway will make the journey easier, safer, and faster for pilgrims.
A distance of 12.9 kilometers will be covered in 36 minutes.
This new ropeway will cover a total of 12.9 kilometers from Sonprayag to Kedarnath. Currently, this journey takes approximately 8 to 9 hours, including trekking and weather challenges. However, with the completion of this ropeway, this distance can be covered in just 36 minutes. This is a major relief, especially for the elderly, women, and children.
1,800 passengers will be able to travel every hour.
This project is using modern technology. The gondola (cabin), with a capacity of 35 people at a time, will carry 1,800 passengers in one direction every hour. This will be India's first 3S tri-cable ropeway, considered one of the safest and most advanced ropeway technologies in the world.
Adani Group's Major Investment and Promise
According to an IANS report, a total investment of ₹4,081 crore is being made on this project. It will be constructed by the Roads, Metro, Rail and Water Division (RMRW) of Adani Enterprises Limited (AEL). The company has been granted the rights to build and operate the project for 29 years. Construction will take approximately six years to complete.
The arduous climb to Kedarnath Dham will now be easier. The Adani Group is building this ropeway to make the journey of pilgrims easier and safer.
We are proud to be a part of this virtuous work. May Mahadev bless us all.
Balancing Tourism and the Environment
An IANS report stated that another important aspect of this project is that the Adani Group is also keeping environmental balance in mind. Construction in mountainous terrain poses environmental challenges, but the company promises to engage with local people, ensure sustainable development, and comply with government approvals.
Part of the Mountain Range Project
This ropeway is being built under the Central Government's Mountain Range Project. Its objective is to promote connectivity options like ropeways in mountainous regions, thereby boosting tourism and the local economy. This facility could prove to be a major boon for pilgrims at a pilgrimage site like Kedarnath.
