A Nationwide Discussion
Given the dangers of social media, discussions are underway across the country about banning it for children. These states are also preparing to keep children away from social media
In addition to Karnataka, similar preparations are underway in Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh government has formed a committee of ministers to study international models in this regard. Similarly, Goa has also stated that it may ban social media for children under the age of 16, following Australia's example. The Goa government says it has received numerous complaints about social media addiction among children.
Australia has already banned it, and many other countries are also preparing.
Australia is the first country in the world to completely ban social media for children under the age of 16. Now, following Australia's lead, many other countries, including France, Spain, Greece and the United Kingdom, are considering introducing such a law.
