JNU Fee Deadline: Jawaharlal Nehru University has released the first merit list for admission to UG and Certificate of Proficiency programs for the 2026-27 academic session. Candidates who have made it to the merit list must now complete the pre-enrollment and fee payment process within the stipulated time. The university has clarified that failure to deposit the fee within the deadline will result in the seat being allotted to the next eligible candidate.

When must the fee be paid?

Candidates included in the first merit list can complete online pre-enrollment and pay the fee from August 3 to August 6, 2026. The seat will be considered secured only after the fee is paid. Therefore, candidates are advised not to wait until the last moment and to complete all formalities in time.

When will the second merit list be released?

According to the university's schedule, the second merit list will be released on August 12. The list of supernumerary seats will also be published on the same day. Candidates selected in the second list will be able to complete pre-enrollment and pay the fee between August 12 and August 14.

Document verification is mandatory

Physical verification of documents for candidates selected in the merit list will be conducted between August 17 and August 20. Candidates must bring all original certificates, income certificates, identity proofs, and other necessary documents. Admission could be jeopardized if documents are incomplete or if the candidate fails to appear on the scheduled date.

Final opportunity for vacant seats

If seats remain vacant after the second merit list, the university will provide a final opportunity for applicants to express their interest in the vacant seats from August 26 to August 28. Following this, a final merit list for the remaining seats will be released.

Admission Process to Conclude by September 15

The university will release the final merit list on September 3. Candidates selected in the final list must deposit their fees between September 3 and 5, while document verification will take place on September 9 and 10. According to JNU, the entire admission process for UG and COP programs will be completed by September 15, 2026. Candidates are advised to regularly check the admission portal for updates.
