Jio Platforms Ltd, which has so far focused on investment and expenditure, has now initiated its 'Plan B'. The company states that the expenditure on network construction has peaked. Alongside preparations for an IPO, the company is now focusing on generating higher revenue from its infrastructure and customer base. To achieve this, it is working on driving growth through enterprise solutions, home broadband, and digital services. This indicates that the company's expenses will now decrease, and a larger portion of revenue will translate into profit.

Sources familiar with the matter say that the phase of heaviest spending for Jio is over. The company's focus has now shifted to monetizing its customer base. Additionally, attention is being directed towards expanding digital services and optimizing operating costs. Notably, the company aims to convert a significant share of its revenue into EBITDA without substantially increasing capital expenditure. Jio is now focusing on expanding its digital services business rather than merely providing connectivity; this includes sectors such as mobility, home services, enterprise solutions, and international technology.

**IPO Expected This Month**
A Moneycontrol report indicates that the company is preparing to launch its IPO around October 21–23. It is believed that the anchor book for the IPO will open on October 19, with listing likely to take place by October 28. The company has concluded its international roadshow, and foreign investors have shown keen interest. These investors have expressed a willingness to invest at valuations higher than those of comparable listed companies. Regarding its subscriber base, Jio Platforms' telecom unit—Reliance Jio Infocomm—had 524.4 million (52.44 crore) subscribers as of March 31. It has currently emerged as the country's largest telecom operator.

**Subscriber Base Set to Grow Further**
Jio's subscriber count is projected to increase further. There are still 240 million 2G subscribers in the country who could switch to 4G or 5G in the near future. It is estimated that Jio will capture more than 60% of this segment, potentially adding around 25 million subscribers annually. This could boost the average revenue per customer by 5% to 6%. In the broadband sector, the company has established a fiber footprint spanning 1.3 million kilometers and has so far acquired 27 million broadband subscribers.
