In view of this danger, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has launched a special tool on the 'Sanchar Sathi' portal under the 'TAFCOP' system. With its help, users can find out how many SIM cards are registered in their name. How to detect fake SIM card?
Go to the Sanchar Saathi Portal (sancharsaathi.gov.in).
Go to the 'Citizen Centric Services' section on the homepage
Select the 'Know Your Mobile Connections (TAFCOP)' option.
Now enter your 10-digit mobile number and captcha code.
After this, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
As soon as you enter the OTP, a list of all mobile numbers linked to your identity documents like Aadhaar will appear on the screen.
How to block a wrong number?
If you see an unknown mobile number on the portal, you can report it as "Not My Number" so that that number can be removed from your ID. At the same time, you can choose the option of "Not Required" for old and closed SIM cards. After the process is completed, the respective numbers will be deactivated based on your report. Individuals who have more than 9 SIM cards registered in their name will be informed about this via SMS.
