What are the rules regarding cylinder delivery?

LPG distributors provide home delivery of cylinders to your registered address. It is their responsibility to deliver gas cylinders to both domestic and commercial users. The most important rule regarding delivery is that the distributor is responsible for delivering a filled cylinder to the customer's registered address and simultaneously collecting the empty cylinder. In other words, under normal circumstances, the customer is not required to visit the agency personally to collect the cylinder.

Do you have to pay extra delivery charges?

• No extra charges need to be paid to the delivery person for the home delivery of domestic gas cylinders.
• According to the rules set by oil companies, the delivery charge is already included in the total price of the cylinder.
• However, there is a rule requiring a payment of ₹25 for the delivery of the small 5 kg 'Chhotu' cylinder.
• If the delivery person has to carry the cylinder up multiple floors, you may choose to give them a tip at your own discretion.

Will you get a discount if you pick up the cylinder yourself?

• If, under specific circumstances, a customer collects the cylinder personally from the distributor's warehouse, will they receive a discount?
• Under the rules, they may be eligible for a discount on the cylinder's price.
• However, please note that users of the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin LPG Vitrak scheme are not eligible for this facility. They have to pay the full price.
