IPPB Update: Can you get your child's Aadhaar card made from home? What is the new facility of the post office..

India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has launched a new facility for citizens living in rural and remote areas, in which services like registration of children with Aadhaar cards and mobile number updates will now be available at the doorstep. For this, IPPB has launched the service of Child Enrollment Light Client (CELC), which is an Android-based application developed by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI).
Under this facility, where earlier people had to go to bank branches or post offices to link or update their mobile number with Aadhaar, now this work will be done with the help of more than 1,36,000 post offices (access points) of IPPB and more than 2 lakh postmen and rural postal workers. IPPB has launched this service in a phased manner with its 650-branch network. All these postmen will be equipped with smartphones and biometric devices so that this service can be provided at the doorstep of every citizen. A service charge of Rs 50 will be charged for this.
Benefits of the CELC App
As per UIDAI's Child Enrollment Policy, biometric details (fingerprints and iris images) are not taken for children below the age of 5 years, thereby simplifying their registration process. Only the photograph and some demographic details of the child are recorded through the CELC app, which requires biometric authentication of the parents and the operator.
Beneficial for rural and remote areas
This service of IPPB will be of great benefit to those who live in rural or remote areas, where access to banking and financial services is less. Through this, citizens will be able to link or update their mobile numbers with Aadhaar, which will make it easier for them to get the benefits of various government schemes.
Benefits of Aadhaar
Nowadays, the direct benefit of subsidy is transferred by the government to the bank accounts linked to Aadhaar. Apart from this, Aadhaar-based OTP verification is also used for services like PAN-ITR, mobile SIM, bank accounts, and ration cards. This initiative of IPPB will prove to be very important and helpful for the citizens. For more information about this service of IPPB, contact your nearest post office or contact your postman.
