iPhone Banned: iPhone may be banned, controversy over Chinese display..

There is a controversy over Made in India, Made in China, and now Made in America. The US President has given the slogan of Made in America, but it is not so easy for the companies. Now there is news of a ban on iPhones in America. The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has issued a preliminary order, under which products with OLED displays made in China have been banned from sale, promotion, and distribution in the US. This case is going on between Samsung and the Chinese company BOE regarding trade secret theft of OLED technology, but Apple can also come under its effect.
iPhone sales in crisis in America?
According to a report by South Korean news site ETNews, ITC has issued a cease and desist order, which prohibits the distribution and advertising of products that contain the disputed technology. This ban will also apply to existing stock.
BOE, a leading display manufacturer in China, supplies display panels for entry and mid-range iPhone models such as the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, and iPhone 16e. Also, BOE is reported to have received permission for mass production of displays for the iPhone 17 Pro models as well.
After this order, iPhone models with displays supplied by BOE may likely be temporarily banned in the US. Also, the ITC has issued a limited exclusion order, under which such iPhone models may also be banned from being imported from China to the US.
Apple clarified: "No impact on us"
Apple has denied these reports. In a statement to 9to5Mac, the company said, "Apple is not a party to this case, and this ITC order does not affect any Apple product." The ITC's final decision will come in November 2025. If this decision remains intact, then US President Donald Trump will have the right to veto (reject) this decision for two months after that.
