A dedicated service is available for this purpose, allowing you to send money simply by making a phone call.
What is the 'UPI 123Pay' Service?
The Reserve Bank of India's 'UPI 123Pay' service is designed specifically for individuals who do not own a smartphone. To use this service, your mobile number must be linked to your bank account. If your number is linked, you can easily make payments even without an internet connection. Most importantly, this service works even on basic mobile phones (feature phones).
How to Use It?
To use this service, you need to call 08045163666 from your mobile phone.
After placing the call, select your preferred language and follow the instructions provided.
If you are using the service for the first time, link your bank account to your mobile number.
Next, select the desired transaction option (e.g., Send Money, Check Balance, etc.).
To send money, enter the recipient's mobile number, UPI ID, or bank account details.
Enter the amount you wish to transfer.
Enter your UPI PIN to complete the transaction.
Once you receive a confirmation, you may disconnect the call.
Important Points to Remember:
It is mandatory for your mobile number to be linked to your bank account.
During the registration process, you must set a 4-to-6-digit UPI PIN.
You are required to enter your UPI PIN for every transaction. No internet is required; a simple phone call is sufficient.
