12 crore people in the country are getting the benefit of the government scheme. Now news is coming about that the insurance cover available in the scheme is being considered to be increased from 5 lakhs to 10 lakhs. This can also be announced in the upcoming budget.

So one of the big announcements is that the insurance cover of Rs 5 lakhs provided under Ayushman Bharat Yojana can be doubled. That is, the amount of insurance coverage can be increased to Rs 10 lakh. However, for now, it will be called an estimate only. Until this is mentioned and confirmed in the budget.

If the Government of India doubles the benefits provided under Ayushman Yojana in the upcoming budget, then according to a figure given by the National Health Authority, an additional burden of Rs 12,076 crores will increase on the government treasury annually.
