Now, Instagram users can comment directly on stories, which adds a new layer of conversation beyond the usual direct messages.

How it works:

Comments: Comments will appear directly in the story, making the conversation more engaging.

Comment control: You can choose to enable or disable comments for each story you post.

Visibility: When comments are active, they are visible to all your followers. However, only mutual followers can leave comments.

Temporary comments: Like Stories, comments will disappear after 24 hours.

Comment indicators: Small profile photos of commenters will appear below the Story icon, so you know there's a comment before you even see the post.
