Here is important news for those booking tickets with IndiGo Airlines. If you are taking an IndiGo domestic flight, you should be aware of the recent fee hikes. IndiGo has increased charges for several services related to domestic flights, which will impact passengers' pockets. You will now have to spend more if you are traveling with a small child or carrying extra luggage.
**Ticket Cost Increased for Small Children**
If you travel with a small child on an IndiGo domestic flight, you will have to pay ₹1,000 more for the infant ticket. IndiGo has raised the infant ticket fee from ₹2,000 to ₹3,000. This applies to children who are not allocated a separate seat and travel with their parents.
**Charges Increased for Excess Luggage**
You do not incur extra costs if you carry luggage within the prescribed limit. However, if you carry excess luggage on an IndiGo domestic flight, you will now have to pay ₹800 per kilogram for weight exceeding the limit; previously, this charge was ₹700 per kilogram.
**Fees Hiked for Priority Check-in and Boarding**
You will now have to pay more for expedited airport check-in and priority boarding services. IndiGo will now charge ₹650 for priority check-in and boarding, whereas the previous charge was ₹450.
**Higher Fees for Unaccompanied Minors**
If a child is traveling alone—without parents or a guardian—the airline's "Unaccompanied Minor" service may be required. IndiGo is increasing the fee for this service by ₹1,000. The cost for the Unaccompanied Minor service will now be ₹5,999, up from the previous ₹5,000. Travel certificate fee increased by ₹100
IndiGo Airlines has raised the fee for travel certificates by ₹100. Previously, the charge was ₹200, but now it will cost ₹300.
