Instagram has now become even safer for Indian teenagers. Meta has added some new features that will protect children from online danger. Now safety tips will be available before starting a chat and it has also become easier to identify and block wrong accounts.

Social media platform Instagram has now become even safer for Indian teenagers. Meta has added two new features to the Direct Messaging (DM) section, due to which teenage users will now see safety tips before chatting with anyone. These tips will remind that if something seems wrong from the other account or you do not feel comfortable sharing information, then do not talk. Apart from this, now the month and year created on the profile of the other account will also be visible in every chat, which will make it easier to identify fake or scam accounts.

Quick block and report facility

Meta has now added another easy feature, which has made it even easier for teenage boys and girls to avoid any wrong or harassing person. Now if someone wants to block someone, he will also get the option to report in just one click. Earlier, two separate steps had to be done for this – first block, then report. But now this work has become quick and easy. This new change is very beneficial for those who want to get rid of that trouble by blocking someone immediately.

Strictness on accounts run for children

Accounts that are being run for children (under the age of 13) by their parents or managers will now be applied Instagram's strictest security settings. These include tight chat control, 'Hidden Words' feature that blocks offensive words and new safety alerts that will appear at the top of the app. Meta has also clarified that if a child is found running his account himself, then that account will be deleted.

Indian users will get direct benefit

India is one of the largest user bases of Instagram and teenagers here are increasingly becoming active in the world of social media. In such a situation, these new changes of Meta will make their online experience more secure and better. This step has brought relief especially to Indian families, who are worried about the digital safety of their children.
