Passengers are also facing long waits at stations. To address this problem, the Jammu division of Northern Railway has taken a major step. They have implemented a system of 'scratch racks' (extra racks) to minimize inconvenience to passengers.

Train Number 22478/22477: Train from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi and back to Katra

These two trains are in high demand. Delays in these trains cause significant inconvenience to passengers. Now, if these trains are delayed due to fog, the scratch racks will be used immediately. This will ensure that the train departs from the station on time.

Railway Provides This Information

According to the information, this decision was taken on the instructions of the Divisional Railway Manager of the Jammu division, Vivek Kumar. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Uchit Singhal and Senior Divisional Operations Manager also collaborated on this initiative. According to Uchit Singhal, fog is the biggest reason for train delays during the winter season. This additional rake arrangement will enable passengers to have comfortable and timely journeys. He said that trains often get delayed due to fog, but now, with the help of these extra rakes, we will be able to run the trains on time. This is a great step for the passengers. It will not only save time but will also help in better managing the increasing number of passengers in the future.
