If you are planning a trip to Rishikesh soon, this news is important for you. The thrill of rafting will come to a halt on the evening of Tuesday, June 30, and tourists will not be able to engage in this adventure activity starting July 1. Rafting on the Ganges in Rishikesh will resume in September. The suspension of rafting is due to the monsoon season. Every year, rafting operations are halted when the monsoon arrives because the water level in the Ganges rises significantly. Rafting becomes extremely dangerous under these conditions, which is why the activity is suspended during the monsoon season.

**Today is the last day to enjoy rafting**
This news is for rafting enthusiasts who visit Rishikesh on weekends. The rafting season—a thrilling experience amidst the waves of the Ganges—is set to close on June 30. This measure is taken because the water level of the Ganges rises during the rainy season; consequently, river rafting will stop from July 1. If you wish to enjoy rafting, today is your last chance to experience this thrilling activity on the waves of the Ganges in Rishikesh. This season, 380,000 tourists have enjoyed rafting; compared to figures from the previous season, over 100,000 more tourists visited Rishikesh for rafting this time.

**Visitors arrive from abroad as well**
Tourists from both India and abroad come to Rishikesh to go rafting on the Ganges. The experience involves navigating the river's cool waves and thrilling rapids. Various stretches have been designated for rafting on the Ganges, including: Kodiyala to Ram Jhula/Neem Beach (35 km), Kodiyala to Shivpuri (20 km), Marine Drive to Shivpuri (10 km), Shivpuri to Ram Jhula/Neem Beach (15 km), Marine Drive to Ram Jhula/Neem Beach (25 km), Brahmpuri to Ram Jhula/Neem Beach (9 km), and Club House to Ram Jhula/Neem Beach (9 km).

**Rafting to Resume in September**
Beyond religious tourism, Rishikesh is renowned for adventure sports and river rafting on the waves of the Ganges. Enthusiasts from across the country and abroad flock here throughout the year to enjoy the thrill of navigating the river's currents. The rafting season in Rishikesh pauses with the arrival of the monsoon, resuming once water levels return to normal. Accordingly, river rafting is set to restart this September.

**3.80 Lakh People Enjoyed Rafting**
River rafting and beach camping are immensely popular adventure tourism activities in Uttarakhand. During the recent season, approximately 3.80 lakh people enjoyed the rafting experience. The industry supports over 10,000 people directly, involving 130 rafting companies. Rafting is now on a two-month hiatus, but the thrill will return as soon as water levels recede.
