Important News for Delhi Residents: No Water Supply in Several Areas on May 8; Delhi Jal Board Releases List..

There is an important update for the residents of Delhi. Water supply is set to be disrupted in several parts of the capital on May 8, 2026. Providing this information via its official social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), the Delhi Jal Board (DJB) stated that a major technical fault has occurred at the Jagatpuri BPS (Booster Pumping Station). The malfunction is so severe that the pump house has completely shut down. Consequently, water supply will be unavailable—both during the morning and evening hours—in numerous areas linked to this BPS.

The Delhi Jal Board has appealed to residents to store a sufficient quantity of water in advance to avoid facing difficulties in the event of a shortage. The department has assured the public that a technical team is working diligently to rectify the fault as quickly as possible.

**Areas Where Water Supply Will Be Affected**

According to the Delhi Jal Board, this technical fault will impact East Delhi and several surrounding localities. The areas where water supply will be disrupted include:

AGCR Enclave
Hargobind Enclave
East Arjun Nagar
New Sanjay Amar Colony
Bhikam Singh Colony
Chitrakoot Apartments
Hans Apartments
LIC Apartments

Navrachna Apartments and Anupam Apartments.
Additionally, water supply will also be unavailable in Karkardooma Village, Priya Enclave, Shanti Vihar, Dayanand Vihar, Arya Nagar, Jagriti Enclave, and Blocks A, B, C, and D of Anand Vihar.

Residents of Blocks A, B, C, and D of Surajmal Vihar, Saini Enclave, Pushpanjali, Bahubali, Ram Vihar, Shyam Enclave, Sharad Vihar, Delhi Administration Flats, Geetanjali Apartments, Vigyan Lok, Manak Vihar, and surrounding areas may also experience water-related issues.

The Delhi Jal Board has urged residents to use water judiciously. In cases of urgent need, residents may also request water tankers from the DJB. Specific contact numbers for various localities have been released for this purpose. For the Mandawali Water Emergency, you can contact the numbers 011-22724037 and 011-22727812.

Meanwhile, for the Jagrati Water Emergency, the numbers 011-22374834 and 011-22374237 have been issued.

Additionally, the Delhi Jal Board helpline (1916) will remain available 24 hours a day.

The Delhi Jal Board has given assurances that efforts are underway to rectify the technical fault as soon as possible so that the water supply can be restored to normalcy.
