When will the JEE Advanced 2026 exam be held?
The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will be conducted by IIT Roorkee. The institute has already released important information related to the exam, such as the exam date and eligibility criteria. According to the official schedule, JEE Advanced 2026 will be held on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at designated examination centers across the country.
Which students can appear for JEE Advanced 2026?
Only those students who have secured a rank within the top 2,50,000 in JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. Reservation will be applicable according to the category, and PWD candidates will be given a 5 percent reservation in each category. In addition, IIT Roorkee has also released new eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced 2026. According to this criterion, the candidate must have been born on or after October 1, 2001. SC, ST, and PWD category students have been given a 5-year age relaxation. Furthermore, candidates can appear for the JEE Advanced exam a maximum of two times and in two consecutive years only.
Rules for 2024 pass-out students
Candidates should have appeared for their first 12th board examination in 2025 or 2026 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Students who appeared for their 12th-grade exams in 2024 or earlier will generally not be eligible for this exam, although some exceptions have been made in special cases. Furthermore, candidates who have previously been admitted to an IIT course and subsequently cancelled their admission after seat allotment will not be eligible for JEE Advanced 2026. However, candidates who complete a preparatory course in 2025 and those who were allotted a seat in JoSAA 2025 but did not report will be eligible to appear for the exam.
JEE Advanced 2026 Application Process
The application process for JEE Advanced 2026 is expected to begin soon. The announcement will be made on the official website. Eligible candidates will then be able to apply for the exam. Along with the application, candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee according to their category. Female candidates, SC, ST, and PwD candidates will have to pay a fee of Rs. 1600, while other candidates will have to pay Rs. 3200.
