IGNOU launches the PG Diploma in Mental Health, only these candidates will be able to apply

The School of Social Sciences (SOSS) of Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has launched the Postgraduate Diploma in Mental Health (PGDMH). This program is for students who have a master's degree in psychology, social work, and nursing, a graduation degree in dental surgery, and medical graduates from various fields including allopathy, Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha, homeopathy, yoga, and naturopathy.

How much will be the fees?

IGNOU's PG Diploma in Mental Health is a one-year course available only in the English language. The total fee for this program is Rs 9,000, which includes an additional registration fee of Rs 300. Admission will be available twice a year in July and January. This PGDMH program at IGNOU aims to meet the urgent need for mental health professionals in the country. This program focuses on both mental and physical health services to meet the needs of the society.

Both open and distance formats

This course can be studied through open and distance formats. The syllabus covers various aspects of mental health, including fundamentals, disorders, special areas, services, and internships. This course is designed to provide a strong foundation in mental health given the increasing demand for mental health.

Where is it available?

IGNOU is conducting this course in various regional and study centers across the country, including Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Delhi, Ranchi, Nagpur, Noida, Jabalpur, Varanasi, and Patna. Some other centers also include Montfort College in Bangalore, Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi, and Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Nagpur.
