What is the process for updating your Aadhaar online?
You can update your address yourself by following the simple steps given here.
First, you need to visit the UIDAI's official website: https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in.
Click on the Login option and enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number.
Next, enter your mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
After entering the OTP, your dashboard will open.
Click on Update Aadhaar Online or Update Address on the dashboard.
Now, enter your new address (such as house number, street, locality, city, district, and PIN code).
Next, you'll need to upload address proof documents such as electricity/water/gas bills, bank passbooks, rent agreements, passports, and voter ID cards.
After carefully checking all the details, click Submit.
You'll receive an Update Request Number (URN) that allows you to track the update status.
By doing this, your Aadhaar will be updated within 30 days.
How to track the update status?
Within a few days, UIDAI verifies your address update. According to UIDAI, it takes 30 to 90 days to update the address. In this case, you can check the status using your URN number by visiting the UIDAI website and going to the Check Aadhaar Update Status section.
What to do if the update hasn't happened within 90 days?
If the new address hasn't been updated in your Aadhaar within 90 days, you can call the UIDAI helpline number 1947 for information. You can also get information by emailing help@uidai.gov.in.
