These seats have been reserved for students who perform excellently in National and International Olympiads. IIT Madras has said that it will provide two additional seats in every undergraduate course to the students who perform excellently in National and International Olympiads.

From which year will the benefit be available?

Announcing on Monday, the director of the institute V. Kamakoti said that these seats will start from the 2025-26 academic session and one of these seats will be reserved exclusively for girls. Let us inform you that Olympiads are competitive examinations. Kamkoti further said, admission under this category called 'Science Olympiad Excellence' (ScOpE) will be outside the JEE (Advanced) framework and students will be admitted from the year 2025-2026.

He further said, "Similar to admission based on Sports Excellence Admission and Fine Art and Culture Excellence mode, SCOPE will also have two additional seats for each course, out of which one seat will be exclusively for girl students." What is the criteria? Kamkoti said, "Talking about the eligibility criteria, it is the same as JEE (Advanced) for the respective year along with passing class 12 and age, other criteria. The candidate should not have got admission in any IIT in the previous years." Applications for the first batch will start on June 3, 2025. Apart from this, stations like Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Barauni, Begusarai, Khagaria, Sonpur, Navgachhiya, Mansi, Maheshkhunt, Semapur, Dighwara, Bachhwara, Kadhagola, Desari, Kursela, Mahanar Road, Lakhminia, Narayanpur, Garaul, Lakhon, Bhagwanpur, Teghra have also been included.

Railways has made it clear that these agents will have commission-based work. The selected candidates will get money at the rate of Rs 2 on every passenger ticket and Rs 5 on a monthly season ticket. These agents will be given the responsibility of this post for 3 years and if their work is satisfactory, their tenure will be extended. Apart from this, if there is any kind of negligence in their work or the work is not found satisfactory, they can be removed anytime.

The 10th pass can apply

Matriculation i.e. 10th pass youth can apply in this scheme. However, to start ticket booking work, they will have to bear the expenses of their terminal equipment, CPU, keyboard, printer, and network panel themselves. The responsibility of issuing platform tickets will also depend on these agents. Candidates who are interested in applying for these posts can submit their applications by 9th ​​April.
