PM Kisan Yojana: The government has issued an important update regarding the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana. If you don't complete the eKYC and other necessary processes on time, your installment may be delayed. Learn the details.

Under the PM Kisan Yojana, eligible landholding farmers receive a total of Rs. 6,000 in financial assistance every year. This amount is transferred directly to their bank accounts in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. One installment is released every four months. So far, 21 installments of the scheme have been released, and crores of farmers have benefited from it.

Regarding the 22nd installment of the PM Kisan Yojana, the update is that it has not been released as of January 2026.  Based on the previous pattern, the installment is expected in February 2026. However, it is important to note that the installment may be withheld for farmers who have not completed their eKYC.

Completing Aadhaar-based eKYC is the most important task before the 22nd installment. To do this, open the pmkisan.gov.in website. Click on eKYC in the Farmers' Corner. Enter your Aadhaar number. Submit the OTP received on your linked mobile number. The status will be updated as soon as the eKYC is completed.

Before the 22nd installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government is going to make a major change. Now, a unique Farmer ID may be made mandatory in the PM Kisan Yojana. This will be considered the digital identity of the farmer. If this process is not completed, the upcoming installment may be withheld.

The government is going to implement the Farmer ID as the digital identity of farmers. This will enable farmers to receive the correct amount of fertilizer and seed subsidies. It will make claiming crop insurance easier. The hassle of repeatedly submitting documents for different government schemes will be eliminated. This means that farmers will be able to avail of several services with a single ID.

To obtain a Farmer ID, farmers can register online by visiting their state's AgriStack portal. First, they will have to complete eKYC through Aadhaar. After that, they will have to map information related to their land and family. Once the details are verified and found to be correct, the department will conduct an inquiry and then issue a unique Farmer ID.

If you want to check if your name is on the beneficiary list, checking the status is very easy. Simply visit the official website pmkisan.gov.in. Click on "Beneficiary Status" in the Farmers Corner section. Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, or bank account number. After filling in the captcha and clicking on "Get Data," all the information will appear on the screen.
