If you share the SSC question paper on social media, you will be in trouble, and you will be fined Rs 1 crore.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has warned those who discuss and analyze question papers on social media. Candidates and institutions may face jail and heavy fines for doing so.
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has taken a big step to maintain transparency in competitive examinations. The commission has recently issued a notice and clearly stated that strict action will be taken against those people or institutions who discuss, analyze or share content on social media on the question papers of the ongoing examinations. According to the commission, these activities are now completely prohibited, and those doing so may have to face jail and heavy fines.
What was said in the notice?
The SSC said in its notice that it has come to the notice of the commission that many people and coaching institutes are discussing and analyzing the content of the question papers of the ongoing examinations on social media. The Commission clarified that such activities are strictly prohibited under the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024 (PEA Act 2024).
What will be the punishment?
Under this new law, those who break the rules will be severely punished.
Any person found guilty can be punished with 3 to 5 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to Rs 10 lakh.
Actions like fine up to Rs 1 crore, blacklisting and exclusion from future examinations will be taken on the institutions.
In case of organized crime, 5 to 10 years of imprisonment and a fine of at least Rs 1 crore is fixed.
Why was this step taken?
In recent times, question papers and analysis of SSC examinations were being shared indiscriminately on social media. This was raising questions on the confidentiality and fairness of the examination. Many candidates had also lodged a complaint that students who study honestly are being harmed by such cases. This is the reason why the commission has now shown strictness and made it clear that any kind of paper discussion will not be tolerated on social media.
What should candidates not do?
Do not share the question paper or its questions on social media even after the exam is over.
Do not be a part of paper analysis on coaching classes or YouTube channels.
