In fact, Indian Railways has designated the time from 8 am to 10 am on IRCTC exclusively for Aadhaar-verified users. Therefore, users whose Aadhaar is not verified with their IRCTC account will not be able to book tickets during this time. They will only be able to book tickets after 10 am. What is the rule?
Indian Railways has implemented a new rule for online ticket booking with IRCTC. According to this new rule, only Aadhaar-verified users will be able to book train tickets in the 8 am to 10 am slot every day. However, other users will only be able to book their tickets after 10 am. This means that if your Aadhaar number is not verified with your IRCTC account, you will not be able to book tickets in the 8 am to 10 am slot. You will have to wait until 10 am. You will only be able to book your ticket after 10 am. The Railways implemented this new rule from October 28th. Therefore, if your Aadhaar is not verified with your IRCTC account, you may face problems booking tickets.
Why did the Railways take this decision?
Regarding this rule, the Railways says that the time between 8 am and 10 am is a high-demand slot. A large number of train tickets are booked during this time, including many fraudulent bookings. The Railways decided to address this issue. Previously, during the 8 am to 10 am period, many agents used to book a large number of tickets, preventing many people from getting confirmed seats. For this reason, Aadhaar authentication has been made mandatory so that the Railways can verify the identity of every ticket-booking user and ensure that only the rightful user receives the ticket. At the same time, after 10 am, any user will be able to book their ticket without Aadhaar verification.
