If you have received a traffic challan, you can get it waived on October 25th; a 'Lok Adalat' will be held at 7 locations in Delhi..
There is welcome news for motorists in Delhi who are burdened by pending traffic challans. The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DSLSA) and the Delhi Traffic Police are organizing a 'National Lok Adalat' across all district courts in Delhi on October 25, 2026. At this Lok Adalat, vehicle owners can resolve their old and pending traffic challans; a magistrate may significantly reduce the fine amount or waive it entirely.
The event was originally scheduled for October 10, but due to administrative reasons and arrangements related to the BRICS summit, the date has been rescheduled to October 25.
Hearings to be held at 7 court complexes
Lok Adalat benches will be set up at all major district court complexes in Delhi. Traffic challans will be processed at 7 such court complexes between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Tis Hazari Court
Patiala House Court
Saket Court
Rohini Court
Dwarka Court
Karkardooma Court
Rouse Avenue Court
Which challans can be resolved?
This Lok Adalat will address all eligible traffic challans issued up to June 30, 2026. According to the rules, a vehicle owner can settle a maximum of 7 challans.
Online token required for the hearing
A token system has been made mandatory to manage crowds at the Lok Adalat. Entry into the court premises and the settlement of challans will not be permitted without an online slip or token. The process for downloading challans and booking online appointments will begin on October 19, 2026. Vehicle owners can book a token slot by visiting the Delhi Traffic Police Lok Adalat portal and entering their vehicle registration number. Once the token is downloaded, be sure to print it out, as it will contain details regarding your assigned court number and the magistrate.
Keep necessary documents ready before heading to court.
Before attending a hearing at the Lok Adalat, you must carry certain essential documents. These include your downloaded Lok Adalat token/slip, the original traffic challan or a copy of the notice, your vehicle registration certificate, your driving license, and your pollution certificate. Additionally, ensure you have your Aadhaar card or another government-issued identity document with you.
If you have multiple pending challans, make sure to access the portal on time on October 19th to book your slot; the number of tokens is limited, and they are allocated on a "first-come, first-served" basis, meaning they tend to run out quickly.
