Govt Scheme: Lakhs of artisans and craftsmen in India not only run their jobs with their traditional skills but also strengthen the culture and economy of the country. To help such hardworking people, the central government has launched the Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojana. This scheme was launched on 17 September 2023 and its objective is to strengthen the people doing traditional work economically and promote their skills.

Artisans like tailors, blacksmiths, goldsmiths, potters, boat makers, broom or mat makers, masons, shoemakers, barbers, washermen, sculptors, toy makers, and stone carvers can take advantage of this scheme. This scheme is especially for those people who run their jobs by working with their hands and tools and whose work is traditional and has been going on for generations.
