Recently, the Government of India has started the Unified Pension Scheme. Since then, there has been a lot of discussion about pensions. Meanwhile, taking advantage of the opportunity, some scammers have become active, and this time they have started thinking of ways to cheat in the name of pension. Some people are getting such messages that if they do not fill out this form, they will not get a pension. In such a situation, people are getting trapped in such scams.
After knowing about such scams, the Central Pension Accounting Office (CPAO), a government body that regulates the pension of the central government, has taken necessary steps. CPAO has directed the Central Pension Processing Centers of all authorized banks to inform pensioners about this and make people aware of such frauds.
How does this fraud happen?
Due to the rapid digitalization of financial services, online scams have also increased rapidly. Online scams have become a big problem in many places now. CPAO has told how scams are happening by taking advantage of this. First of all, these fraudsters send a form to all pensioners through WhatsApp. These fraudsters, claiming to be officers, ask people for their personal information and say that if this information is not given, then pension will not be paid to them. If someone does not fall into the trap of WhatsApp, then these fraudsters also call people and cheat them.
CPAO told how to avoid fraud
First of all, do not give your personal information like PPO number, bank account information, password, or OTP to anyone. CPAO never asks you for such personal information.
If you ever get any such call, verify the source and only then give any information. But keep in mind that do not give them your personal information either, no one asks for such personal information.
A special pattern has been seen in every scam people are asked for urgent information. If you get a call or message, then avoid such things related to urgent information. If you have any kind of doubt, first clear it, only then decide whether to give information or not.
Such scams keep increasing rapidly because many people do not report them sometimes due to shame and sometimes due to fear. If you also get any such message or call, then report it immediately.
