Let us tell you that this is not the first time that SBI has changed the rules related to its cards. Changes were also made in July and August 2025. At that time, the bank had discontinued the complimentary air accident insurance cover available on SBI Elite and SBI Prime cards.
Now new changes are being implemented again. The new changes will be applicable on some selected cards of SBI. These include Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Card, Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Select Card and Lifestyle Home Centre SBI Prime Card.
The holders of these cards will no longer get benefits like before. Reward points will also be discontinued on many transactions. After the implementation of the rule, reward points will no longer be available on some categories. These include expenses made on online gaming platforms, government services and government transactions.
Apart from this, some selected merchant transactions have also been excluded. Whose list will be released by SBI soon. SBI has also changed the Card Protection Plan. From 16 September 2025, all existing CPP users will be automatically shifted to the updated plan variant.
This rule will be applicable at the time of renewal of the card. Customers will be informed about this change through SMS and e-mail. These changes will have a direct impact on customers. Especially those who often use credit cards for online gaming or government transactions. Earlier, reward points were available on these. But now this facility will end.
