How to find a lost phone: With the help of Google's Find My Device feature, you can find out the real-time location of the phone.

In today's time, smartphones have become an important part of our lives. But if this phone gets lost or stolen somewhere, then the problem increases. In such a situation, there is no need to panic because, with the help of some easy methods, you can find your lost phone yourself and that too without taking the help of the police.

Here we are telling you three effective methods with the help of which you can easily find your smartphone or at least prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

1. Find the location immediately with Google Find My Device

If you have logged in to your Google account in your mobile, then you can see the real-time location of the phone using the 'Find My Device' feature. For this, you just have to open [Find My Device website](https://www.google.com/android/find) on another phone or computer or download its app on the mobile.

Login here with your Google ID and in a few seconds you will know where your phone is. During this time, the internet and location should be on in the phone. If the internet and location of the lost phone is on, then you can lock the phone or even ring it, even if it is on silent mode.

2. Block the phone through CEIR portal

If your phone has been stolen and you feel that someone can misuse it, then you can register a complaint on the CEIR (Central Equipment Identity Register) portal of the Government of India.

This portal blocks the phone across the country on the basis of its IMEI number. Meaning, if a thief tries to put any SIM in your phone, then the police can find out about it.

To block a phone:

Go to [CEIR portal](https://www.ceir.gov.in/)

Choose the 'Block Stolen/Lost Mobile' option

Upload a copy of the FIR and identity card

Fill in the IMEI number and submit it

Once the phone is found, it can also be unblocked from this portal.

3. It is also possible to trace the phone through email

If the Google account you logged in to on your phone is the same email you have on another device, then you can check the phone's location with the help of the same email. The last location of the phone can also be retrieved from Google location history and account activity. Just log in to the email account and look at the location timeline of Google Maps.

First of all, do not panic in case of losing the phone. You can get your smartphone back by adopting any or all of the three methods mentioned above. Also, for the future, ensure that the location is always on in your phone and the Google account is active.

With these easy tricks, not only can you find your phone, but you can also ensure its safety and the best part is that you won't even need to visit the police for this.
