Fake Instagram Account: In today's digital era, it is becoming common to create fake accounts on social media. If someone is creating a fake profile on Instagram using your name, photos or personal information, then it is theft of your identity and it can be misused such as misleading people, extorting money or tarnishing your image. In such a situation, it is very important to take immediate action.
First, confirm that the account is really imitating you
Some Instagram pages are only fan pages or parodies that fall under the rules, provided they clearly state that it is not a real profile. But if an account is misusing your name, photos, bio or any personal information and trying to show that it is you, then it will be considered "impersonation".

All this information can be used in a report or legal action
Report to Instagram
There are two ways to report a fake profile on Instagram – from the app and from the website.
Via the app:
Go to the fake profile
Tap the three dots (⋯)
Select “Report” → “Report Account” → “It’s pretending to be someone else”
Then select “Me” or “Someone I know”
Follow the instructions below and submit the report
Via a web browser (if you don’t have an Instagram account or the case is serious):
Open the Instagram Impersonation Report Form
Upload a valid photo ID
Instagram usually responds after a few days
Alert your acquaintances
Let your friends, family and followers know about the fake profile so they don’t fall prey to any scams. Add a story or post like: “Someone is running a fake Instagram profile in my name. Please don’t contact them and report them.” The more people report the account, the sooner Instagram will remove it.
If Instagram doesn't take action, do the following.
If you don't get any response after reporting, report again from both the app and the web, visit the Instagram Help Center, tag @Instagram or @Creators on Twitter or threads, contact Meta Business Support if you have a business or verified account, cases get taken care of if you persist.
