First Indian Hydrogen Train: July 17 is set to be a historic day not just for Jind, but for the entire country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off India's first hydrogen-powered train from Jind. On this occasion, he will also address a massive public rally organized in the city.
This event is being viewed as a major step by the country towards environmental conservation and the promotion of green energy. A notable feature is the effort to make the rally itself eco-friendly; special emphasis has been placed on using CNG and electric vehicles instead of petrol and diesel ones for the event.
PM Modi to unveil multiple projects
On the same day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 75 railway stations developed under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. He will also unveil various development projects worth thousands of crores of rupees. Unprecedented security arrangements have been put in place across the Jind district for the Prime Minister's visit. The security deployment will include 15 IPS officers, 52 DSPs, 100 inspectors, and approximately 5,000 police personnel.
Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is personally overseeing the preparations for the event. He has visited Jind twice in the past week to review the arrangements. Meanwhile, the Railway Board Chairman has also inspected the Jind railway station and the hydrogen plant to review the operational setup.
Hydrogen train successfully tested multiple times.
The hydrogen train has undergone successful trials multiple times on the proposed 89-kilometer rail section between Jind and Sonipat. According to the proposed railway schedule, the train will depart from Jind Junction for Sonipat daily at 7:40 AM. Starting from Jind Junction, this train will halt at Jind City, Pandu Pindara, Lalit Khera, Bhambheva, Butana, Gohana, Rabhra, Lath, Mohana, and Banwasni stations. The estimated fare from Jind to Sonipat is reported to be ₹25, although the Railways has not yet released an official fare list.
District Administration Fully Prepared
The district administration is fully prepared for this historic event. Road repairs and fresh tarring are being carried out along the route Prime Minister Modi is expected to take. Dividers and walls are being painted, defunct fountains are being made operational again, and 51 quintals of *laddus* are being prepared for the welcome.
This event, scheduled for July 17, is expected to give Jind a new identity at the national level. There is an atmosphere of excitement across the entire district regarding this historic occasion.
