Huge discounts on buying homes and flats during the festive season—will you really save lakhs?
Do you also wish to buy your own home? There is no better time to do so than the festive season. This period brings numerous offers, potentially allowing you to save lakhs of rupees.
Significant discounts are available on almost everything during the festive season—whether it is online or offline shopping, or even purchasing a home or property. Real estate companies also roll out various offers to entice homebuyers during this time. Continuing this trend, many real estate firms have introduced attractive deals this year as well.
Offers range from price reductions on flats and waivers on registration charges to the provision of modular kitchens, gold coins, and easy installment plans. But are these offers truly beneficial, or are they merely a gimmick?
How beneficial are festive season discounts?
During the festive season, builders often provide extra incentives to boost sales and clear unsold inventory. Buyers may benefit from easy payment options, direct price discounts, or other perks. Yashank Wason, Managing Director of Royal Green Realty, discussed this in detail with NDTV.
He explained that homebuyers can take advantage of attractive prices, flexible payment plans, and added amenities during the festive season. Since people are often keen to purchase property on auspicious occasions, builders introduce such offers to encourage customers to make quick decisions. However, the benefits vary from offer to offer; therefore, one should not assume a home is a bargain simply based on an advertisement.
Consider Carefully Before Buying a Home
Rupam Dey, Head of Brand and Marketing Communications at Hubtown Limited, states that to truly understand the benefit of any offer, one must consider factors such as the flat's actual price, the prevailing market rate, payment modes, and additional costs like GST and stamp duty. Nowadays, instead of directly reducing prices, builders often provide free gifts, fee waivers, and easy payment plans. Consequently, buyers should also check what the price of the flat was a few weeks ago compared to the current offer price.
Don't Incur Losses While Chasing a 'Good Deal'
While buying a home during the festive season can be advantageous, not every discount translates to genuine savings. It is essential to compare the builder's offer against the flat's base price, its price just a week earlier, all additional expenses, and other available options in the market. Therefore, conduct thorough due diligence before making the decision to purchase a home.
