How to remove an old email ID and add a new one on Facebook? Here’s an easy way.
If you want to remove the old email ID associated with your Facebook account or add a new one, Meta provides a simple option for this within the Accounts Centre. Learn the easy way to add, remove, and change your email ID.
The email ID linked when creating a Facebook account remains very useful later on; however, if you wish to use a different email ID, remove the old one, or add an additional email to your account, Facebook offers the facility to do so. Meta allows users to manage the email IDs linked to their accounts via the Accounts Centre. You can add, remove, and change email IDs from there. Let’s find out how to manage email IDs on your Facebook account.
First, open Facebook and click on your profile picture visible at the top right corner. Next, select "Settings & privacy" and then go to "Settings."
Once in Settings, click on "Accounts Centre." Here, you will find options to manage various personal details linked to your account.
Now, click on "Personal details" and then open "Contact info." This is where you can add or remove email IDs linked to your Facebook account.
To add a new email, click on "Add new contact" and then select "Add email address." Enter your new email ID and select the account you want to link it to. Then, click "Next." Facebook will send a confirmation code to the email address you provided. Enter that code, then click "Next" and finally "Close."
If you want to remove an old email ID, click on that email address within the "Contact info" section. Select "Delete email" and confirm by clicking "Delete" again. Facebook may ask you to re-enter your account password. After entering the password, click "Submit" and then "Close."
To change your email on Facebook, you must first remove the existing email ID linked to the account. After that, you need to add the new email ID. Additionally, on Facebook, you can control who can view the email ID associated with your account and determine which one will be used as the primary email.
