How to get benefits in Ayushman Yojana? Know how much money can be spent on annual treatment
Health is an important aspect of everyone's life. It is unpredictable when someone falls ill or becomes a victim of an accident. Therefore, many people opt for medical insurance as a precaution for the future. However, not everyone can afford health insurance. To meet the health needs of such individuals, the government led by Prime Minister Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat Yojana in 2018. The scheme provides free medical treatment to its beneficiaries, providing cashless and paperless medical services. Here's how you can avail of this scheme and how much free treatment a person can get annually.
How to avail Ayushman Bharat Yojana?
The Ayushman Bharat Yojana aims to benefit people living below the poverty line (BPL). To be eligible for this scheme, the annual income of the applicant's family should not exceed Rs 2.4 lakh. Additionally, the applicant must belong to the SC or ST category.
To avail of the benefit, follow these steps:
- Visit the official Ayushman Bharat website at https://pmjay.gov.in/.
- Check if you are eligible for the scheme by entering the required details.
- If eligible, visit your nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) with all the required documents.
- The CSC operator will collect your information and documents, and submit your application.
- Once registered, you will receive an Ayushman card, which you can use to avail free medical treatment.
Free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh
Under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Yojana, beneficiaries get free treatment up to Rs 5 lakh annually. This can be availed at any impanelled government or private hospital across the country. The treatment is cashless and does not require any additional documents. Simply present your Ayushman card to receive the required treatment, including medicines and tests. Every Ayushman cardholder can avail of free medical services up to Rs 5 lakh annually.
