You just have to follow a simple process, keeping in mind a few things. Let us then find out immediately, without taking much time, how you can find out the status of your ITR refund.
Check like this from the Income Tax e-filing portal.
To check the status of your ITR refund on the Income Tax e-filing portal, you first have to go to www.incometax.gov.in. After this, you will have to log in to this portal by entering your PAN number and password along with the captcha.
After logging in here, tap on e-File and click on Income Tax Returns.
After this, click on View Filed Returns.
After this, you will see the list of your filed returns. After this, click on “View Details” in front of the year for which you want to check the refund.
Now you will see the status of your refund as “Processed”, “Refund Issued”, or “Refund Failure”.
How to check from NSDL
To check the status of your ITR refund through NSDL, you have to:
First of all, go to https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/oltas/refundstatuslogin.html.
After this, fill in your PAN number, assessment year, and captcha.
As soon as you submit this information, you will know the status of your ITR refund.
Point to note
You will see one of the options “Processed”, “Refund Issued”, or “Refund Failure” in the status of your ITR refund. If you see “Refund Paid” or “Refund Issued”, it means that your refund has been sent to the bank, and it can reach your account at any moment. On the other hand, if you see “Processed”, it means that work is going on on it but it has not been sent to the bank at the moment. On the other hand, if you see “Refund Failure”, it means that your refund has been canceled for some reason or is stuck in the process.
What to do if the refund gets stuck?
If you see “Refund Failure” in the status of your ITR refund, then you can go to your “Profile” in the portal and add a new bank account in “My Bank Account”, so that your refund can be processed in another account. If this does not help, you may contact Income Tax Helpdesk or CPC Bangalore.
