The Railways has revised the rules for transporting dogs; therefore, if you intend to take your dog on a train, it is vital to understand the regulations regarding the railway's "dog box" facility.
Know the booking rules.
If you have two dogs, they will no longer be allowed to share the same box while traveling on the train.
This means that if you have two dogs, you must book two separate dog boxes.
A single box is designated for only one dog; a second dog cannot be placed in it.

Sharing could be problematic.
You cannot share your booked dog box with a dog belonging to a friend or relative. If two dogs are traveling with you, ensure you book separate dog boxes for each of them in advance.
How to book?
To book a dog box for your pet, you need to visit the station's luggage or parcel office.
All booking procedures will be completed there, but do not forget to carry the necessary documents.
Bring your dog's health certificate and vaccination records with you.
You will be required to provide specific details about the dog for the booking.
Once the process is complete, railway staff will determine the charges based on the dog's weight and the distance of the journey.
After making the payment, you will receive a receipt, which you should keep safely.
Remember: if you have two dogs, book two separate boxes. Action will be taken for rule violations.
If a passenger is caught traveling with a dog without having made a booking for it, they may be charged up to six times the prescribed luggage rate.
Furthermore, for violating the rules, the passenger and the dog could even be made to disembark at the next station.
