After completing your MBBS in India, you cannot directly start working with patients in Canada. You need to complete certain tests, training, and licensing procedures.

To work in Canada, you must be proficient in English or French. Passing tests like IELTS or TEF Canada is mandatory. This proves that you can communicate effectively with patients and staff.

First, you need to get your MBBS degree and transcripts verified through physiciansapply.ca. This ensures that your degree is recognized in Canada. You cannot proceed without verification.

After degree verification, you must pass the MCCQE Part I (theory) and the NAC exam (clinical skills). These tests demonstrate that your medical knowledge and clinical skills meet Canadian standards.

Next, you will need to complete a residency program in Canada. You apply for this through CaRMS (Canadian Resident Matching Service). The residency program lasts from 2 to 6 years, depending on your specialization.

After completing your residency, you must pass the MCCQE Part II. Then you need to obtain either CFPC (Family Physician) or RCPSC (Specialist) certification. Finally, you must obtain a license from the Medical Regulatory Authority of the province where you wish to practice.
