How to Update EPF Nominee Online?: The role of the nominee is very important in any investment, as it ensures that if the investor dies, the related benefits reach the right person. This is the reason why the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has also made it mandatory for its EPF account holders to add a nominee. If the nominee is not nominated, then in the event of death, the family members may have difficulty in getting the PF amount. That is why today we are telling you how to add a nominee in the EPF account online.
How to add nominee to EPF account, know the online process (How to Update EPF Nominee Online)
Step 1: Login
First go to the EPFO website.
Then log in by entering your UAN (Universal Account Number) and password.
Step 2: Choose the e-nomination option
After logging in, click on the ‘Manage’ tab.
Then go to the ‘E-Nomination’ option and select ‘EnterNewNomination’.
You will have to tell whether you have a family or not. For this, select ‘Yes’ or ‘No’.
Step 3: Fill in the nominee details
Upload the nominee’s name, relationship, date of birth, other necessary information and their photo.
If there is more than one nominee, then determine the ratio (eg 50-50 or 70-30).
Step 4: Confirm by E-sign
After filling all the information, click ‘Save’ and go to the ‘PendingNominations’ section.
Choose the e-sign option – for this, you will have to enter the Aadhaar number.
An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, after entering which the nomination process will be completed.
