Rates change every month.
In India, the prices of LPG cylinders are revised on the first day of every month. This revision applies to both commercial and domestic cylinders. State-owned oil marketing companies—such as Indian Oil (IOCL), BPCL, and HPCL—announce the new rates at 6:00 AM on the first of each month. These prices are determined based on factors such as import parity prices, currency exchange rates, and various other global market conditions. Generally, commercial gas cylinders are more significantly affected by external factors. This is because the government keeps the prices of domestic cooking gas under control to ensure that the burden of inflation does not fall on ordinary consumers. In contrast, commercial gas is entirely deregulated; any fluctuations in the international market are passed on directly by oil companies to commercial consumers (such as restaurants, hotels, and factories).
