How much salary does a Lekhpal get

Currently, Lekhpal is being paid salary under the 7th Pay Commission. In states like Uttar Pradesh, this post comes in the Level-1 pay band. On this basis, the basic salary of a Lekhpal is around Rs 21,700. However, this salary increases by adding DA (dearness allowance), HRA (house rent allowance), TA (travel allowance) and other government benefits. These changes may come after the 8th Pay Commission

Now talking about the 8th Pay Commission, its recommendations can be implemented from the year 2026. If the government fixes the fitment factor at 2.5 or above, then a huge increase in the basic salary of the Lekhpal is possible. For example, if the current basic salary of a Lekhpal is 21,700, then it can increase to around 54,250 to 57,000. This will also have a direct impact on other allowances, due to which an increase of 25% to 35% in the total salary is possible. Apart from this, facilities like pension and PF will also be re-calculated according to the new salary structure, due to which the benefits received after leaving the job will also increase. Overall, if the 8th Pay Commission is implemented on time, then the financial condition of employees working on ground level posts like Lekhpal can improve further.
