How much did the toll rates increase?

Recently, Yamuna Authority held a meeting to increase the toll tax rates on Yamuna Expressway. In which it was decided that now the toll tax rates will be increased in the expressway. The toll tax rates have increased by 4%. Earlier, the rate for two-wheelers was Rs 1.30 per kilometer. Now the new rates will be Rs 1.50. The rate for jeeps and cars was Rs 2.70, now it will be Rs 2.95. The rate for light commercial vehicles was Rs 4.35, now it will be Rs 4.70. The rate for buses and trucks was Rs 8.95 per kilometer, which will now become Rs 9.35. The rate for heavy construction vehicles which was Rs 12.90 will now become Rs 13.35 and the rate for oversize vehicles which was Rs 17.60 will now become Rs 18.1.

Understand the calculation like this

After the new toll tax was implemented from October 1, if you travel by car from Greater Noida to Agra, you had to pay Rs 270, whereas now you will have to pay Rs 295. So where buses had to pay Rs 895, they will now have to pay Rs 935, oversized vehicles which earlier had to pay Rs 1760 as toll tax will now have to pay Rs 1835.

Prices have increased so much till now

Operations on Yamuna Expressway started in the year 2012. Then, cars had to pay Rs 2.10 per kilometer. Apart from this, buses and trucks had to pay Rs 6.60 per kilometer. Whereas heavy vehicles had to pay Rs 10.10. After this, in the year 2014, the toll for cars increased from Rs 2.10 to Rs 2.50. For buses and trucks, the rate increased from Rs 6.60 to Rs 7.5. For heavy vehicles, it increased from Rs 10.10 to Rs 12.05. In the year 2022, these rates again increased from Rs 2.50 per kilometer to Rs 2.65. For buses and trucks, the rate increased from 7.5 to 8.45. For heavy construction vehicles, it increased from Rs 12.05 to Rs 12.90 per kilometer. For over-sealed vehicles, it increased from 15.55 to 18.80 per kilometer.
