How much balance should be kept before Fastag gets blacklisted? Know this new rule.

You must have seen Fastag installed on all four-wheelers passing on the roads. Now Fastag is used to pay toll tax across the country. This saves a lot of time. And there is no crowd at toll plazas.

But till a time, vehicles had to stop the vehicle at toll plazas and pay the money themselves. But now it has completely changed. With the arrival of Fastag, the entire process has become automatic. Now the money for Fastag is deducted from the bank account itself.

Fastag works on radio-frequency identification. It is generally pasted on the windscreen of the vehicle. It is scanned by the scanner installed at the toll plazas. And money is deducted from the account linked to it.

Some rules have been made regarding the use of Fastag. Which all drivers have to follow. Otherwise, they have to face trouble. Recently a rule has been changed regarding Fastag.

Actually, now the low balance rule has been issued regarding Fastag. Which has come into effect from 17 February 2025. That is, now you cannot keep a low balance in Fastag. If you do this, your Fastag may be blacklisted.

Now many people must be wondering how much minimum balance has to be kept to avoid low balance. So let us tell you that an amount has not been fixed for this. But it is right to keep a balance of at least Rs 100 in Fastag. Fastag may be blacklisted at less than this.

If there is no balance in Fastag, then you may face difficulty when going to the toll plaza. Which will be the toll fee. Due to not being able to use Fastag, you have to pay double the charge of that toll fee.
