How many times can you change the photo on your Aadhaar card? Find out the process and the cost involved..
The Aadhaar card is currently one of the most essential identity documents. It is used for everything from government services to banking operations. Furthermore, whether you are booking a train ticket, buying a SIM card, or enrolling your child in school, the Aadhaar card is the first document requested. However, many people are unhappy with the photograph on their Aadhaar card. Often, people do not pay attention to the photo when the card is being made, only to realize later that the picture is not good. This raises the question: can you change your Aadhaar photo, and if you have already changed it once, can you change it again?
**How many times can you change your Aadhaar photo?**
There is no fixed limit on the number of times you can change the photograph on your Aadhaar card. Just like your address, you can update your photo as often as you wish. However, you must visit an Aadhaar Seva Kendra (Aadhaar Service Center) to do so. Additionally, a fee is charged for this service; you cannot change your Aadhaar photo for free.
**How to change your Aadhaar photo and the associated fee**
UIDAI allows you to update the photograph on your Aadhaar card. However, this cannot be done online from the comfort of your home; you must visit a nearby Aadhaar Seva Kendra. This is because the process requires a camera and biometric verification. Simply visit the center and fill out the Aadhaar update form. Your biometrics will be verified, and a new photograph will be taken using a camera. This new photo will then appear on your Aadhaar card.
You may be required to pay a fee of ₹125 to change your Aadhaar photo. Once the process is complete, your Aadhaar details will be updated with the new photo within a few days, and you will be able to download your new Aadhaar card.
